2 1/2 Year Olds
(T and/or TH AM~9:20-11:20)
Children who are 2 ½ years old and toilet trained may enroll in this program. They may come to school either one or two mornings a week. Our 2 ½ year old curriculum is designed for our youngest children as a “warm up” to the preschool setting. Our caring, secure environment gives our littlest students the confidence to explore, interact, and enjoy their time at school. The children grow through nurturing guidance. We allow no more than six children per teacher in our 2 ½ Year Old Program, so each child receives the attention appropriate for his/her age.
Early 3 Year Olds
(T-TH AM~9:15-11:30)
Our Early 3 Year Old Program is designed for children who have just turned 3. They
attend school two mornings a week. Learning for our 3 year olds has been developed in a curriculum which offers socialization, movement, and hands-on experiences. Our Early 3 Year Old Program engages and guides in the development of these youngsters while making learning fun! Allowing no more than nine children per teacher ensures a secure learning environment.
Older 3 Year Olds
(MWF AM~ 9:15-11:30)
(MWF PM~ 12:45-3:15)
Our Older 3 Year Old Program has been established for children who are already 3 years old. They may attend school either three afternoons or three mornings a week. Our Older 3 Year Old Program was developed knowing 3 year olds like to work at their own pace as they inquire about the world around them! The curriculum in our Older 3 Year Old class fosters and engages the fantastic imagination of the 3 year old! Allowing no more than nine children per teacher gives our students the much needed individualized attention they deserve!
Early 4 Year Olds
(M-W-F AM~9:10-11:40)
(M-W-F PM~12:45-3:15)
The 4 Year Old Program has been developed for children who are either currently 4 years old or will turn 4 by October 15. The curriculum has been developed keeping in mind how very inquisitive and thoughtful 4 year olds can be. Having no more than nine children per teacher allows a more personalized education for your child. A fun, child-centered atmosphere helps children grow and become enthusiastic learners and independent thinkers.
4-5 Year Olds/Pre-Kindergarten
(M-T-W-TH-F AM~ 9:30-12:00)
(M-T-W-TH-F PM~12:45-3:15)
Our Pre-Kindergarten Program is dedicated to children who may be entering kindergarten the following school year. The heart of the curriculum is Kindergarten preparedness, with the core curriculum focusing on the Kindergarten standards developed by surrounding school districts and the State of Nebraska educational standards. Because of our dedication to an exciting, multi-sensory educational setting, children will be enthusiastic about learning and become shining examples of school readiness. With a teacher to child ratio of 1:9, children are given the specialized attention needed to flourish emotionally, socially, and educationally.
5-6 Year Olds/Kindergarten
(M-F AM~9:00-11:45)
Our 1/2-day kindergarten class was developed in order to provide children an alternative to full day kindergarten. Legacy Primary’s kindergarten holds the highest of standards in following the State of Nebraska’s Department of Education guidelines for Kindergarten expectations. The focus of our kindergarten curriculum is to supply the necessary skills that allow our students to become eager lifelong learners in literacy, art, mathematics, social studies, science, music, motor, and social/emotional development. We hold the highest of educational expectations for our students as they attain their greatest potential! As with all of Legacy Primary’s educators, our kindergarten teacher holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and has an exceptional background of experience!
Class sizes at Legacy Primary School are extremely small in comparison to area public and private schools (we have no more than 15 students in a class staffed by a teacher and a teacher’s aide), giving your child the much-needed attention they deserve at such a young, critical age. Because of this small class size, lessons are developed based directly on the individual student’s needs. Students are periodically assessed to evaluate progress and make adjustments to the individual lessons based on these objective findings. Upon completion of kindergarten at Legacy Primary School, students will have the option of either enrolling in a full day kindergarten or moving on to first grade the following year.
Enrichment Classes
(M, T, W, Th, and/or F ~ 12:45-3:15)
The Enrichment Program at Legacy Primary School allows students who are in Kindergarten or Prekindergarten to experience full days of learning in a fun, nurturing environment. The Enrichment curriculum is designed to introduce students to cultures from around the world. Students learn the language, taste the foods, touch artifacts, and hear guests speak about the countries they study. Enrichment classes are taught by degreed/certified teachers, and families can choose to stay from one to five afternoons a week.
Lunch Bunch
At Legacy Primary School, several of our programs cross age levels. This was established so that some of our young learners may enroll in more than one program. In order to facilitate an easier transition between AM and PM programs, we offer a Lunch Bunch time. Children enjoy their sack lunch and drink from home, and then are given a free play time and recess, all of which is monitored by our faculty.
Lunch Bunch is available for students every day between morning and afternoon classes (11:45-12:45). Students enrolled in morning classes who want to stay for Lunch Bunch, or students enrolled in afternoon classes who want to come early for Lunch Bunch are more than welcome to do so. A $5.00/day fee will be assessed for half-day students attending Lunch Bunch. Students enrolled in full days have this fee waived. Students are to bring their own sack lunch and drink for Lunch Bunch.
