Our Philosophy
Legacy Primary School houses six large classrooms with ample space for young children to move! Our school also has a brand new outdoor playground for gross motor development activities. While at Legacy Primary School, students are engaged in meaningful and appropriate learning experiences in each of our bright, inviting classrooms.
Legacy Primary School
was developed with the belief that young children learn best by being actively involved while learning. That is why our distinct learning environment provides children with a wide spectrum of academic and social experiences. We supply our students with the highest quality of education through a literacy based curriculum that incorporates the arts, discoveries of science and social studies, hands-on mathematics, and creative dramatics. Our inviting, fun, child-centered environment caters to the individual needs of each learner. Through this environment each child is then be able to enter his/her elementary classroom as an enthusiastic learner, independent thinker, and self-confident citizen.
Community Outreach
Legacy Primary School students are involved in several service projects throughout the school year. We’ve collected supplies for the Nebraska Humane Society, gathered grocery store gift cards for families in need at Thanksgiving time, and donated wrapped gifts to families staying at The Ronald McDonald House during Christmas. Legacy Primary School teachers use these service projects for lessons in their classrooms on compassion and empathy. Our “Giving Tree” in our parent reception hall allows Legacy Primary parents direct involvement in our service projects. We have a great sense of “community” as Legacy Primary families work together in making our service projects successful and ever so meaningful to our little learners!

As very close neighbors, the collaboration between Legacy Primary School and Heritage Pointe Assisted Living allows for significant, delightful activities with students and residents through art, storytelling, music, gardening, cooking, and sharing of talents. Once a month, one Legacy Primary class and its teacher, teacher’s aide, and parent volunteers walk over to Heritage Pointe for an hour-long activity. The anticipation and excitement both the residents and the students exhibit are priceless! Our intergenerational program promotes community and gives our Legacy Primary students and Heritage Pointe residents a sense of respect for one another as they have fun! Smiling faces, hugs, and laughter are all included!!!
