Mrs. Buffy Baca - Administrator
Mrs. Baca is married and raising three children with her husband, Dan. She taught in the public schools for thirteen years and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Reading Education. Mrs. Baca also has an Endorsement in English as a Second Language. She has taught at various grade levels as well as in an English as a Second Language Inclusion Program. Building Legacy Primary School from the ground up has been a dream come true! The continued support of new and returning families to Legacy Primary School is our truest testimonal!


Mrs. Kelly Pedersen - Administrator
Mrs. Pedersen is married and raising three children with her husband, Mike. She taught in the public school system for sixteen years and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, as well as Special Education. Mrs. Pedersen also has an endorsement in English as a Second Language. She has taught at many grade levels including Inclusion and Special Education Programs. Creating Legacy Primary School has been her greatest labor of love! The success of Legacy Primary School has been beyond expectations and am enjoying our ever growing population of preschoolers and kindergarteners!
It takes a special person to work with young children and appreciate their unique qualities. These special people can be found at Legacy Primary School. Our staff is dedicated to creating a nurturing, fun, encouraging environment for our students. Legacy Primary School is owned and operated by two certified teachers with experience in various educational environments at the primary level. In addition to the Administrators, our teachers hold Education degrees and qualifications that separate them from typical early childhood programs.
Mrs.Tami Timmermann - (AM Kindergarten ~ PM M-F Enrichment)
Mrs. TImmermann has Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master of Science Degree in Education from Wayne State College. She taught in the Wayne Schools for 17 years. Mrs. Timmermann has three children and five grandchildren. In her free time she enjoys reading, baking, and golfing.
Mrs. Becky Zessin - (AM PreKindergarten)
Mrs. Zessin has a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and has been teaching for the last 15 years. This is her third year at Legacy Primary School. Mrs. Zessin has worked with a variety of ages from infant to kindergarten. She is married and has 2 kids of her own. Mrs. Zessin has been in Omaha for 5 years now, and enjoys spending time with family and being involved at church.
Mrs. Linda Whitehill- (AM PreKindergarten)
Mrs. Whitehill has a Masters Degree in Curriculum and taught in the public schools for 36 years. Mrs. Whitehill has taught Kindergarten and 1st grade. She is married and has one daughter. Her daughter is married and works as a nurse in the NICU at Childrens Hospital. She has lived in Omaha over 30 years and loves spending time with her family and volunteering at Lakeside Hospital. She is also very involved at her church.

Mrs. Kathy Mingo - (AM MWF 4s ~ PM MWF 3s/4s)
Mrs. Mingo is married and has two children with her husband, Mike, a teacher/coach at Burke High School. She enjoys serving and volunteering on many committees at church and her children’s schools. She also helps coach her children’s sports teams. In 1991, she earned a business degree from Creighton before returning to school for an education degree in 1994. She has always loved the school environment. She has worked with all age groups in various capacities from elementary Title One through high school. She enjoys the preschool age because it allows her to teach while being able to be silly, creative, and have fun! It’s so rewarding to see how far the children come within the school year! Mrs. Mingo was Legacy Primary School’s first teacher when we opened our doors 4 years ago! Mrs. Mingo looks forward to another terrific year with your little ones. Thank you for entrusting us with your wonderful kids!

Mrs. Karen Lepp - (AM MWF 3/4s ~ AM T/Th 3/4s)
Mrs. Lepp graduated from UNO with a double major in Elementary Education and Special Education. She has a Master’s Degree in Learning Disabilities. Mrs. Lepp taught for years in the Omaha Public Schools before deciding to stay home with her three children. When Mrs. Lepp decided to return to teaching, she chose the preschool system and has fallen in love with this age group. Mrs. Lepp has taught preschool since 2002, and she has taught with Legacy Primary School since it opened in the fall of 2008. In her spare time, Mrs. Lepp enjoys volunteering for Yachad, a developmentally disabled adult group, and golfing with her husband.

Mrs. Joan Miller - (Intro to Preschool ~ PM PreKindergarten)
This is Mrs. Miller’s third year at Legacy Primary School. Mrs. Miller graduated from TCU with a degree in Speech & Language Therapy. She has taught in both the public schools and preschool and Language Development in private schools. She has also taught children with special needs in a private school setting. She is a tutor for the Midlands Literacy Council and teaches reading to an adult with special needs. She has two children and five grandchildren. Her hobbies are painting chairs for Charity Event Auctions.
Mrs. Amy Stanek- (AM T/Th 3s ~ AM MWF 3s ~)
This is Amy's first year at Legact Primary School. Amy graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She also graudated with a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. After completing her masters, Amy went on to become a Certified lead teacher in High Scope. She is currently working on an additional endorsement in early childhood. Amy was a teacher for OPS for seven years. She left the school system and began working with younger children. That led her here to Legacy Primary School!
Amy was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and is a graduate of Marian high school.
Amy is married with five children. In her spare time she loves to exercise and spend time with her kids.
Mrs. Joyce Miller - (Music Teacher)
Joyce Miller graduated from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa with degrees in English, Speech and Music. She has also attended Iowa State in Ames, UNL in Lincoln and UNO in Omaha.
She has taught from college age students down to currently 2 ½ to 5 years old. Her teaching experience includes middle school to high school in Iowa; middle school and college in Nebraska. She is also a private piano teacher.
Joyce belongs to the National Music Teachers; Nebraska Music Teachers and the Handbell Musicians of America.
She and her husband, Jerry, have lived in Omaha for 35 years. They have three children and five grandchildren.
